New to Day School? No Problem!

Frankel Jewish Academy welcomes Jewish students from all backgrounds to join our supportive community at any point in their high school career. We aim to ensure a successful transition into our dual curriculum by helping students and their families integrate into the FJA community in various ways:

  1. Entry-level Hebrew courses: Students are not expected to have any prior knowledge in Hebrew. We offer a range of Hebrew courses from novice to advanced to ensure the right fit for every student.
  2. Entry-level Jewish Studies courses: Students are not required to translate Hebrew texts right away
  3. Learner’s Minyan: Students new to day school are encouraged to join this group their first year to learn the foundational pieces of a Jewish prayer service.
  4. Host family pairing: New families are paired with current FJA families before school starts to provide a connection and resource for parents and students.
  5. Robust student support team: Our learning specialists, one of whom focuses on Hebrew and Judaic Studies support, assist students as needed throughout the year during study hall periods and X-block (office hours) offered multiple days per week.
  6. New parent and student orientations: Every family receives guidance on daily school operations- everything from lunches to holidays will be explained before school begins.
